How to Add BNB Chain and Polygon (MATIC) to MetaMask?

In this quick step-by-step tutorial, we will show you how to add the BNB Chain and Polygon (MATIC) Network to the list of networks on MetaMask. It is a very simple process and there is nothing to worry about. We'll be done in no time!

Here we go. We will start with the BNB Chain.

Add BNB Chain to MetaMask

1. Download MetaMask from their official website. They offer support for the browsers Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge, as well as both iOS and Android.
   
2. Create a wallet by following the instructions. Once you get to the backup seed phrase, make sure to write it down on a piece of paper rather than storing it on your computer or phone.
   
3. Congratulations! You’ve just created a MetaMask account. It should look something like this:

4. As you can see, the default network on MetaMask is set to the Ethereum Mainnet (top left). Let’s now add BNB to the list.

Click on Networks, select ‘Add network’ and you should see this menu pop up:

Click 'Add' near the BNB Chain and approve the network.

5. Alternatively, you can add the network manually. Input the following info in the boxes:

Network Name: BNB Chain
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
ChainID: 56
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com

6. You are all set! Well done.

Add Polygon to MetaMask

Skip the first 3 steps and proceed to step 4 if you already have a MetaMask account.

1. Download MetaMask from their official website. They offer support for the browsers Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge, as well as both iOS and Android.
   
2. Create a wallet by following the instructions. Once you get to the backup seed phrase, make sure to write it down on a piece of paper rather than storing it on your computer or phone.
   
3. Congratulations! You’ve just created a MetaMask account. It should look something like this:

4. As you can see, the default network on MetaMask is set to the Ethereum Mainnet (top right). Let’s now add Polygon to the list.

Click on Networks, select ‘Add network’ and you should see this menu pop up:
